Enforcer: Death by fire
13/06/13 || sincan
I remember seeing Enforcer live a year or something like that ago. I remember that I enjoyed it a bit actually. I enjoyed it so much I ended up grabbing the Diamonds CD. However they didn’t sound as good on the CD as they did live. I can either chose to blame that on the booze and krokodil drug injection (don’t google that shit) or I can blame it on the pretty tame and flat production. I think that I go with the latter.
What first caught my attention was Olof Wikstrand pretty high screaming vocals, and yes he sounds like a pretty young fella from time to time, but he is doing what he is supposed to in a band like this. Getting all the vaginas dripping and whatnot. Because what Enforcer does provide to our sacred world is some old school heavy/speed metal with a lot of influences from old well known bands. If Motörhead and Mötley crüe got a pretty ugly child, who listened a lot to heavy metal in general, it would eventually end up sounding like Enforcer.
After the intro the album kicks off with a typical party metal track in the shape of Death rides this night with a sing a long friendly text and some air guitar potential. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand this pretty much goes on until the 36:27 minutes has passed so if the first track isn’t kicking you in the balls or the perineum while you ejaculate I guess the other tracks won’t either.
So is this better than the previous album (Diamonds)? Well, I don’t know since it was a while ago I listened to that one. But again I think that Diamond’s production was pretty tame and this one I believe is better, however Diamond’s tracks are sometimes pretty strong so I think they end up being equal in quality. Oh, I just checked the production now and I was right, a usual.
